Yesterday we went to Orana park. I went with my class and Mrs Simanu´s class too. First we met the zoo keepers, the zoo keepers were called Tegan and Bethany. They were very nice and kind they had very interesting facts about lots of animals. Then we had morning tea, the group that I was in, was with Rosy’s mum her name is Katy the friends that were in the group with me was Willow, Rosy, Lily, and Rafa. After we had finished morning tea we went to see the Rhino’s.

The young rhino called Tino he was being a silly boy he tried to lift up the gate with its horn. But  the gate won because the gate was too strong but what happened was that a little bit of Tino’s horn came off his horn. Tino’s mum pushed tino away because she wanted her own personal space around other rhino’s.We new lots of facts about the rhino’s, our whole class got to hold a rhino’s horn  it was a rhino’s horn that died at old age.Next we got to hold a rhino’s baby tooth that fell out of a rhino that maybe died at old age or still alive.

Next we peeked to see the wild life african painted dogs. We had to be very quit because they were sleeping behind a tree. After we saw the wild life painted dogs, we peeped to see the orangutans there was a very hairy one called Charlie, and there was two others called Wanita and Vanita. The orangutans are endangered because most of their habitats have been chopped down in the forest. Then we went to see the gorillas. They are endangered too there was a big hairy gorilla called whangata and there were two brothers. Whangata was the boss of his brothers, when whangata gives serious look at his brothers they run away because they are scaredy gorillas.

Secondly we tiptoed to see the giraffes. Scientists think that giraffes have purple tongues because they have sunblock on its tongue so their tongues don’t get sunburnt. Finally we got to see the Meerkats get feed and the Porcupines. Then we got on the bus and go back to school.
